Technical Tips
Unfortunately Pet Emergency Academy cannot be responsible for the access to technology each participant has nor their computer, internet and browser capabilities. While someone such as yourself completes one of our courses, we highly recommend using Google Chrome and having a solid, stable internet connection. Internet connections on public WiFi are unpredictable and not recommended. Also using a smartphone to complete a course is not recommended due to limited visual ability and varying signal access. For technical issues please email info.petemergency@gmail.com.
Course Outline:
This online training consists of video presentations and tutorials which are asynchronous and can be viewed at the participants own pace. Participants may log in and out as much as they like but must complete the training within 30 days from the date they purchased the registration. Videos and tutorials are presented by Pet Emergency Academy staff and our veterinary affiliates. Video presentations are tracked and progress is monitored throughout this training. There are 3 learning modules in the training and a quiz at the end of each module. You must pass a module and the corresponding quiz in order to move on to the next module. The final exam will be available after you have passed each of the module quizzes with an 100% or higher.
Module #1 Communication
Module #2- The Intensive Care Unit
Module #3- Life Threatening Emergencies
Each module has assigned readings. These readings include chapters in the course reference guide and articles from other veterinary sources that compliment the topics being covered in that module.
A cumulative final exam is to be taken at the end of the course and will cover all of the material presented throughout the entire course. Quizzes are timed and you have 30 minutes to complete each one. The final exam is timed for 60 minutes. If the timer ends and you have not completed the assessment, your test will close and any unanswered questions will be logged in as zeros.
You must achieve 100% on each quiz and the final exam in order to pass the course. You have unlimited attempts to pass each assessment.
*IMPORTANT* Certificates are available to you as soon as you complete this course. If you are in need of continuing education credits, the certificate qualifies as a CE certificate. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at info@petemergencyeducation.com.
