Continuing Education Policy

Certification for all of our courses is awarded through Pet Emergency Education, LLC. PEE is a RACE approved provider of qualified CE for veterinary professionals by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards AAVSB (provider #779).  Although all of our classes are authorized to award CEU to anyone who completes the course, some veterinary jurisdictions have their own requirements therefore it is the responsibility of the participant to verify whether or not their state with accept the CE credits from one of our classes. Unfortunately our company is not approved to award RACE CE to veterinarians, only veterinary technicians and other support staff.  Veterinarians in states with independent approval will receive approved CEU.

Our courses also award continuing education credits from the following organizations:

  • Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers
  • Pet Sitters International
  • International Association for Animal Behavior Consultants
  • International Association of Canine Professionals
  • National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors
  • Professional Animal Care Certification Council
  • Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International

Our courses award CE units on the basis of contact hours.  1 contact hour is the equivalent to 1 CE unit therefore a class that is 3 hours long is worth 3 CEU.  Pet Emergency Education and Pet Emergency Academy commands a very high level of respect, authority and credibility throughout the animal and veterinary community, however acceptance of our CE credits is not guaranteed by our company. The term continuing education is public domain. With traditional CEU any employer or other organization may decide on an individual basis whether to honor the CEU from training providers.  CEU awarded to veterinary professionals may have more stringent limitations depending on the jurisdiction. Each state has different criteria for what they will accept for CE when veterinary professionals renew their licenses/credentials.  CEU acceptance by credentialing agencies and state medical boards is not guaranteed.

Although our animal CPR programs are based on the RECOVER Initiative, the most current industry standard method of animal CPR, we are in no way affiliated with the RECOVER Initiative or its RECOVER training program.
